Vision Boards to Action Boards

A Vision board is collections of images, illustrations and words that visually represent the life you would like to lead.

By taking these ideas, images, words, etc. and placing them on a board and putting it in a place where you can view it regularly, it is more likely to occur.

Opera Winfrey says, "See it!" Believe it!" "Achieve it!"

I love the idea of vision boards and am currently in the process of making one for myself for my 2013 goals. I do believe we need to look at vision boards and understand that something must be done to achieve them.

Your do no need to change everything, but you do need to change SOMETHING!

Your Vision Board is filled with images of things you want to own, things you want to achieve, things you want to do, feel and be. These things generally won’t just happen, they won’t fall on your lap, you won’t wake up looking like the model on Elle Magazine and I doubt you have a Fairy God Mother… You have some action to perform in order to have these things materialize in your life.

The main benefits of having a vision board are it allow you to:

Visualize your goals
Focus on your goals
Establish new habits
Attract opportunities to you

DREAM BIG and get your kids involved. My sister was telling me about her experience with creating her dream board with her kids (2 and 4 years old). They went on the Internet and started looking at pictures. She chose a picture of a beach house in Hawaii and printed it out and placed it on her dream board. Her daughter (4) wants to go to Disney World, so they found a picture and added it to her own dream board. Her son (2) loves trucks so they found one and added to his own dream board. She said it was so much fun and all 3 vision boards are on display in their kitchen to see every day.

How can you start?

First brainstorm your ideas of what you would like to achieve in your future. Dream big and really think about the outcome.
"If your dreams don't scare you they aren't big enough"

Once you have a clear idea of what you want to do:

Get a cardboard box or flat sheet of paper.
Look through magazines, on-line and in newspapers.
Find pictures that represent those ideas and put them on the board
Place the board in a visible location.

Now if you had a Fairy God Mother - it would be as easy as that BUT now you have to take some action. So change your vision board to an action board. It doesn't just happen, you must put the work and effort into your dreams.

“Vision without action is a dream. Action without vision is simply passing the time. Action with Vision is making a positive difference.” - Joel Barker

Good luck and please share your vision boards with me.

Using FACEBOOK to Jump Start your business

Using a Facebook Page for Your Business

There are over 80+ million users on Facebook and they are spending their time reading, updating and networking with friends, colleugues and strangers. This means that Facebook is one of the best tools to help grow your business. You see almost every company out there with a “Like our Page” option on the website and marketing information. WHY? Because they know that it is a huge market and they want to get involved.

Most people already have a Personal Profile page but without a Facebook Page, you are missing out on building your “brand”. A Facebook Page is very important to building on-line, gaining followers outside your immediate family and friends, acquiring new customers and finding other potential business builders.

If you are similar to me and you have either asked all your friends and family about your opportunity and products or just do not want to be constantly putting your business on your personal Facebook page, a Business Facebook page is so important.

Why you need a Facebook Page for your Business?

If you imagine your website as your store front, your Facebook Page is the social network storefront for your business.

Many of you probably do not have a business website yet and that is OK. Start with your Facebook Page first to act as your storefront. It can help your build your brand, advertise your business to people outside your own social network of friends and family.

Your Personal Profile provides personal information, personal connections with friends and family and personal photos. When you start adding your business into that, the line begins to blur of professional versus personal. You do not want to become Billy No Mates (see the blog I wrote about this).

Your Facebook Business Page is a way to share your business with the 80+ billion other people on Facebook. With a Facebook Profile you add friends but there is a limit to these. With a Business Page, you can have as many likes as you want. This is a much bigger marketing audience.

When you separate the Business and Personal pages, you also have more tools that will help you within your business. The Business Page is set up to help you engage with your fans and potential customers.

Some great features a Business Page has are:

* It can help you drive traffic to your Business website or lead capture page

* Custom apps give you the ability to add different interactions through contests, capture pages, video and blog feeds

*Only a Business Page can be advertised outside your personal network

What type Page do I need?

When you are setting up your Business Page the main focus is to brand yourself. The idea of BRANDING is to let other people know they exist, what they offer and even where they're located. Once you have a solid brand, it doesn’t matter what you are selling (that is another blog all together).
If you look at a celebrity (Like Oprah Winfrey or Donald Trump) who use Facebook pages, they have “Public Figure” as their type of page.  My Facebook page is a “public figure” and I do recommend this but it is up to you.

What do I call my Facebook Page?

If you look at my page  I have called mine my full name. I have seen others called their business or their name and business. This again is completely up to you. I do recommend your full name and a professional (or close up) photo of yourself. This is again due to branding yourself and everything that comes with you is secondary (your business and products come from you).

How do I build up my Fans on my Facebook Page?

Now that you have decided to come on-line and start to learn about how Facebook Pages can help build your brand and business, I highly recommend doing some more learning about Facebook and its great capabilities.

Check out this free video on using Facebook to build your business: http://lsh.socialmediainsanity.net/

In the meantime, a few tips to help grown your audience:

Upload a cover page and change it every once in a while. This will keep things fresh and as new and repeat visitors come to your Facebook Page, they are seeing changes.

As I mentioned earlier, have a close up picture of you smiling welcoming those to your page.

Update at least 1-2 posts daily to your fans. Research has found that photos and videos attract more share and comments. (check your analytics to see what gets the most views and shares with YOUR fans).

Pin an important post each week. (see top right corner has a yellow "pin") This is something important that you want to keep at the top of your feed. Add a photo of video or photo and include a link and ask them to click to get more information.

Learn how to navigate through your Admin panel to understand what is working well and what is not. You can view the activity and respond to any personal messages.

Use your Professional persona to “like” other pages and comment on post. Why? This is so people will start seeing you and your brand and can connect with you if they want to.

In the About area, if you have a website, include it there so new fans can find out more.

If you get a new like, send the person a quick little welcome message to thank them for connecting with you. I do send my website or a link in the first message but offer if they would like anymore information, to contact me. This way you are not assuming anything and making a connection with the person first.

If and when you decide you have budget to do some advertising on Facebook, I have some great information as well. Please let me know and I can walk you through some steps.

Good Luck and if you have a Facebook Page for your business, please comment below and then others reading this can LIKE your page.

Keep the Flu Season out in the COLD

For some of us, the cold winter months are here to stay!

Sadly this also means the cold and flu season is upon us. Have you ever noticed that some people just never get sick; no cold, no flu, nothing. You may be thinking "lucky them" but the in reality, the cold weather is not related to catching a cold but due to a decrease in our immune systems.

The average healthy adult might catch 2 colds per year but by strengthening your immune system all year round, but particularly when more people are sick, will help keep you energized and healthy.

Some tips to help keep your immune system functioning as efficiently as possible if you start to feel cold or flu symptoms coming on:

Get plenty of REST: This allows your body to repair itself and minimize added stress.

INCREASE your consumption of liquids: Water is the best way to increase your liquids. Water has many benefits to the body:

Transports nutrients and oxygen into cells
   Moisturizes the air in lungs
   Helps with metabolism
   Protects our vital organ
Helps our organs to absorb nutrients better
   Regulates body temperature
   Detoxifies
   Protects and moisturizes our joints

GET Proper Nutrition: Enjoying some amazing whole foods and avoiding high fat and sugars is not just good for your waist line. It is also amazing for your immune system.

TAKE your VITAMINS: If you increase your intake of whole healthy foods, a multivamin is a top up. Vitamin C and A with beta-carotene both have the ability to enhance immunity.

Some Recomneded Power Foods to Help Increase Your Immunity
High in Vitamin C
Bell Peppers
Dark Leafy greens (kale, mustard greens, garden cress)
Broccoli, cauliflower, brussel srpouts
Oranges and clementines
Strawberries
