The most beautiful.

I did a google search today and these were the words that came up:

amazing, astonishing, beautiful, dapper, dazzling, delightful, cheerful, classy, fabulous, fancy, fragrant, fresh, glamorous,  heavenly, lavish, lovely, perfect,  splendid, silky, wonderful
If you were to guess what I was searching, what would it be?

It was a flower!!

The most beautiful flower you have ever seen. When you came across it you stopped and took it all in. The smell, the beauty and said 'That is the most beautiful flower I have ever seen!"

NOW - imagine we did the same thing when we saw people. A woman that is beautiful, dazzling, fabulous or perfect may be adored by some but others get angry at her beauty, jealous of her dazzle and her fabulous body. Imagine every time we saw a beautiful flower we said, "That fu**ing flower is too beautiful or too dazzling"

It makes me sad to think we cannot think of beauty as beauty no matter what the source.

I overheard some women talking in the gym locker room the other day about another woman who was at the gym. I knew exactly who they were talking about because I saw her as well and remember thinking how drop dead gorgeous and smoking hot her body was. Being in the health and wellness industry and personal trainer for so many years, I have a true respect for bodies like that! I know what it takes, how hard one works, what they eat and the commitment it takes to look that way.

BUT instead of observing her and admiring her beauty and body as they would with a flower, these women were putting her down. They were making negative comments about her beauty and making excuses for themselves. I really wish we could get past the high school gossip as we grow older but I find it actually gets worse.

There are more excuses as we get older: we have more responsibilities, kids, older parents, career commitments. These excuses become so common that when you see someone running at 9am you automatically think "she doesn't have kids" or "it would be nice to not go to work until later so I could get a run in". Have you ever thought when you saw a woman with a baby and she looks great, "must not be hers" or "good genes". Why can't we just take responsibility for ourselves. Whatever you decide to do is your responsibility. Not that of the beautiful woman who looks great. Not the woman running at 9am (btw, maybe she already dropped off her kids). As a society, I find most people find it easier to blame others for their own issues.

"People spend too much time finding other people to blame, too much energy finding excuses for not being what they are capable of being, and not enough energy putting themselves on the line, growing out of the past, and getting on with their lives".J. Michael Straczynski

Stop using others as excuses and look at the beautiful flower and call it a beautiful flower.

Don't compare your results to someone else's. You can never be another person, you can only be a better version of yourself.Yours in Health and WealthLindsay
